kill -9 `ps xawo state=,pid=|sed -n ‘s/Z //p’`
Needing a zombie extermination, I tried it…
liensun@eeecarus:~$ kill -9 `ps xawo state=,pid=|sed -n ‘s/Z //p’`
sed: -e expression #1, char 1: unknown command: `’
kill: usage: kill [-s sigspec | -n signum | -sigspec] pid | jobspec … or kill -l [sigspec]
I don’t understand how your command works, so I’m unable to fix whatever goes wrong. No one really seems to care about zombies, but VLC seems to spawn quite a few, these days, and once there’s one on the rampage, they tend to multiply -_-
