devou park crit...
fun times at devou's inaugural race yesterday...
race report:
felt really good. stayed with the lead group of 6 for the entire race until the last acceleration... didn't have drive to push all the way to the end. had a guy "sprint" passed me when i thought he was cruising to the finish like i was. amateur move on my behalf...
i think it's the funnest crit course i've been on. really suits me for charging downhill, spinning up hill, lots o' turns to make moves on. i stuck to my plan of racing smart and safe. i tried not get out front and pull... i did put myself on the front to slow the pace up the hill one time which worked out nicely. i tried this again later on, but the pack proceeded to pass me.
raced Cat 5 and ended up 7th out of 40 or so... not terrible, but if i can get my ass to commit on the last 1/2 lap i should place much better... for me it wasn't as hard as doing a TT.
weird faced person...
some might say you're not supposed to have your inside pedal close to the ground. my fixie riding has trained me to ride through the corners.
chewning was out representing...
