Methodology
GEORecall analyzes how stories present claims and context. This page explains what our labels mean, what they do not mean, and how to challenge an analysis.
Source claims are not verified facts
The Claim Ledger records claims identified in the source story and the evidence or gaps represented in the available record. “Claim present in source” means the story makes that claim; it does not confirm the claim is true. A fact-check match means a known fact-checking source was found. No match means no direct match was found in that check, not that the claim is false or true.
Evidence, analysis, and uncertainty
- Evidence describes material identified in or linked to the story. It can be incomplete; prefer the original source and cited documents when evaluating a claim.
- Frames, beneficiaries, and missing context are analytical interpretations. They describe possible effects or omissions and do not establish an author's intent or prove that information was deliberately withheld.
- Scores and confidence are model-assisted signals for prioritizing review. They are not calibrated probabilities, legal findings, or substitutes for subject-matter judgment.
- Evidence gaps identify questions the available material does not answer. A gap is not evidence that the opposite claim is true.
Predicted and observed AI recall
A “likely AI summary” or recall-risk label is a prediction based on the story and its analysis. It is not an observation of what an AI system said. GEORecall marks recall as observed only when a recorded check has been run; check logs show the available results and timestamps. Results apply to the tested system and prompt at that time and may change as models change.
Sources, updates, and corrections
Each story page links to its original source when a source URL is available and displays the publication and analysis dates available to GEORecall. Coverage can be incomplete, and source material can change after publication. We welcome specific corrections with the story URL, the claim or passage at issue, and supporting evidence.
