Business & Checking at Chase
Happy 4th! I'm looking for feedback from anyone who currently uses Chase for both business and personal banking. I'm hesitant because I've heard stories about accounts being locked or closed by their trigger-finger algorithms, but I also wonder whether those people were actually in the wrong and were blaming Chase Bank. I currently have a business checking account and a total checking account (newly opened). I haven't fully moved my personal banking over yet, as I'm not certa

How can I rebuild banking relationships after major past mistakes?
I’m looking for advice from people who have successfully rebuilt banking relationships after making serious financial mistakes in the past. A few years ago, I overdrew and ultimately lost relationships with several banks. One account at Wells Fargo ended up around $400 negative after a payment went through that I never covered. I also had much larger negative balances with Capital One and Bank of America business accounts due to poor decisions I made at that point in my life. I’m not here to arg

Why was my dispute claim cancelled? When I called Bofa to add more information and recipts on the charge?
Hello Just recently I had disputed a claim and of 250 dollars, I had called the merchant and they didn't help me and kept hanging up, this led to me calling bank of America and I had submitted my claim before but I wanted to modify it because I had even more receipts and proof that the merchant has incorrectly charged me 200 dollars extra. I then called bofa to modify and give all the recipts and story but for some reason my updated/ modified claim was cancelled? submitted by /u/

Fraud detection from the same location while not using card?
End of April I lost my wallet on a golf course, I cancelled the card. 2 weeks later it finally shut down while i was purchasing Chinese food and i went in person to get a new card since the TD Bank app and phone calls were doing nothing. While waiting for the new card I went to Florida for another 2 weeks to end may. Meaning for the entirety of may I did not have my debit card. When I returned there was a $30 charge from MY STC on june 2nd. It got caught by the fraud detection service and I decl

Credit Union changed account number, now new checks are being denied everywhere
Hello, my mother is in a deadlock trying to figure out why she can't use her checks. Her credit union changed her account number and issued new checks. They were denied when she would try to use them. After the problem continued, the credit union tried closing that account and opening a new one, and these checks are also being denied. The credit union claims this is the first time this has happened which I do find hard to believe. They aren't offering any other solutions and my mother

Random $380 ACH credit bank of America transaction. How can I find more info on what this is?
I just moved to the US and opened an account with Bank Of America. I'm aware of the $500 bonus if I get $10,000 in 90 days, which I will, but it hasn't been 90 days and it's also not $500 that I received I can't really figure out what else it might be. Anyone have any ideas? submitted by /u/scoopydidit [link] [comments]

Are Fraud Certifications Fraud?
So recently after working part time until I finished my degree I was looking at openings in the area of fraud investigation and positions surrounding that. One thing that I kept seeing was certifications like "ACFE" and all these different courses that provided certifications surrounding fraud that they were looking to see. Now these things were not required on any of the job descriptions I'm guessing they were just to help people without secondary education. That being said I real

What counts as a bill payment or pre-authorized payment?
My bank is offering me $600 in airline points if I open a new chequing account with them and hold for a year (which costs $200/yr), change my payroll/direct deposit to them, and either have 2 "pre-authorized payments" per month or 2 "eligible bill payments to a service provider" per month. I read through the T&Cs but it doesn't explicitly say what constitutes a pre-authorized payment or bill payment. Currently I have a few monthly charges (streaming, storage unit, cel

How Can I Prevent a Person from Signing over a Check to Another Person?
I just closed my mom’s estate through probate. I owe my brother $33K from that estate. He has made my life hell during the two-year process through bullying, name calling, threats, etc. He has also spent his life dodging income tax payments and child support. When he gets his check for the $33K, he will sign it over to his girlfriend (he doesn’t have a bank account), for the reasons stated above. HOW CAN I PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING? Like all law abiding, tax paying citizens who take care of th

I deposited most of my liquid money into a new Truist account and they put a 10 day hold on it it’s showing up as current/pending is there anyway to use the money anyway? I already called the bank. I need to pay for medication I will die without.
essentially, I put all my liquid money into deposited checks into a new Truist account and the first check I deposited they offered me availability and then the rest they put a 10 day hold on because my account is new but they show up in my pending balance and my current balance is there anyway that I can go around the bank and spend the pending/current balance anyway I really need the money I already called the bank. They said since it's a new account there's always holds placed on new

Looking for an online bank that doesn’t require residency
Hi everyone! First of all, sorry if this isn’t the right subreddit or if the title isn’t the best. I’m not really sure where to ask this. I’m looking for a bank that allows me to open an account completely online , without being a resident or citizen of that country. Ideally, I’m looking for: -Online account opening -No residency or citizenship requirement -USD accounts would be preferred (I’m based in Europe), but I’m open to other currencies as well -Low or no fees -High transfer/payment limit

Anyone else having trouble logging in for the last 24 hours?
I checked down detector & everything’s fine. But I can’t log in or change my password. Face ID isn’t working. It won’t take my password & when I check on forgot password it won’t accept the verification code they send me. It’s so frustrating, especially during the first week of the month when big bills are due. I’m also very irritated with the process to receive a new debit card. I reported an unauthorized charge almost 3 weeks ago & I still haven’t received my card. My BF banks with

Understanding a credit card
I just got a credit card in BC, im 19, working a part-time job, and plan to go to university the next academic year. But some things I don't understand. I know that you have a set spending limit for each month, some cards offer points, and you have to pay after purchases to uphold your credit score, or else you get charged extra interest. But who do I send the money to? (Im with rbc) How can I calculate my credit score? Can I just send the money as soon as i make the purchase? Is there an au

I found my late grandpa’s bank statement from 2012 with a modest amount, naming me as the “In Trust For”. What should I do?
I was finally going through some papers while declutterring and found an old statement listing me and my sister as the ITFs. It is from Talmer Bank and Trust in Port Huron Michigan but that bank doesn’t exist anymore. seems to have been absorbed by Huntington. other notes: it was a dormancy notice saying it was inactive for 12 months and to call to restore its status. i am not sure if that was done or not. It says there was about $4,000 in the account, “classic savings”. Not sure if anything is
